DeWalt Tough Phone added to Desk Phone Range

We are delighted to announce the inclusion of DeWalt's first smartphone to our desk phone range. We believe the range of phones available at launch is unprecedented, offering a massive choice in size, colour and even shape.

All phones in the range built to the highest specification and using superior materials share the same core attributes of using, RIPTec´s patented "By Your Side" technology, allowing your desk phone to go with you when you leave your desk. This revolutionary technology allows you to simply pick up your handset and carry it away without having to unplug cables or leads. Utilising the embedded ´AlwaysOn´ function you can continue to make and receive calls without having to reconnect cables, find a power outlet or sync to the company switchboard.

"I remember the day I was on an important conference call and I sub-consciously stood up from my desk, wandered towards my office window and the line went dead. I had pulled the power lead out of my desk phone!" explains RIPTec´s CEO Mark Trowbridge. " Looking in consternation at the phone, I said to myself this has to change, and at that point we started building a solution.

That was 5 years ago and today marks a huge leap in technology when you can have all the usual features and functions of your desk phone but without the chains. Key features across the range include:

  • Multi-Number delivery
  • Contact Directory
  • Contact Speed Dial buttons
  • Missed Calls
  • Call History and Callback
  • Extension to Extension dialling with busy notifications
  • In call transfer options
  • Hold, Mute and Speaker buttons
  • Call Conference button
  • Voicemail access - with notifications
  • Do Not Disturb option
  • Call Queue option
  • Call Recording option

We are building a huge team of channel partners around the globe and rapidly expanding the range of handsets available to end users which is currently in excess of 4,200.

Announced today is the MD501 manufactured by DeWalt. The new phone pairs rugged looks with tough durability — it's rated IP68 for water resistants (up to 2m of immersion for 30 minutes), 810G for drops (survives 2m drops to concrete), and can work in temperatures from -20 degrees up to 60 degrees centigrade. The MD501 can also work with gloves, even though it's a full touchscreen device.

This new Tough Phone features a 13-megapixel camera, 1.3GHz processor with 2GB of RAM, 5-inch 720p display, 3,950mAh battery, Qi wireless charging, and Android 5.1 Lollipop. DeWalt also notes that it has amplified loudspeaker for clearer speakerphone calls at noisy jobsites.

"I can´t believe how far we have come in such a short space of time and I am so proud of my team." continues Mark, " The freedom I now have to make and receive calls literally anywhere is beautifully liberating as well as being incredibly efficient. I can´t tell you how many deals I have done from my favorite street cafe, and not having to rush back to my desk to make those calls is fantastic."

RIPTec´s patented RIPDialer technology is available on most IOS and Android handsets and allows users to add and manage multiple phone numbers from the one mobile device, meaning they can make and receive calls on behalf of their business from anywhere. In addition, the solution extends all the features of a desk phone right in to the palm of your hand.
